Year 4, Mini Lesson 2.1 – Project Launch & Planning
Semester Learning Goal
Students will implement their Capstone Project with persistence, responsibility, and care. They will problem-solve in real time, gather feedback, and reflect on the impact of their actions and their growth as ethical changemakers.
Lesson Goal
Students will finalize a timeline and project plan, establish roles (if applicable), and prepare for implementation with clear goals and support systems.

Last semester was focused on planning and preparing the capstone project. This semester is all about action.
1. Opener: Reorientation [5 minutes]
Ask students to review their Implementation Action Plan from Lesson 1.12
2. Distribute the Lesson 2.1 Project Launch Sheet [20 minutes]
In the Project Launch Sheet, students will review:
Final timeline (dates/deadlines)
Weekly work blocks
Team/partner roles and responsibilities
Anticipated challenges and support strategies
Students should refer to their portfolios from Semester 1, particularly their Implementation Action Plans, to complete the Project Launch Sheet.
3. Facilitate a "Peer Consulting Circle" [15 minutes]
Break the students into small groups
Each student presents their plan in 2 minutes
Partners ask clarifying questions and give one suggestion
4. Closing and Exit Ticket [5 minutes]
Ask students to complete the Lesson 2.1 Exit Ticket.
Students will respond to the following prompt:
"For the first month of this semester, my focus will be..."
